WA Trip (I)

Pre flight
Yes I am a flickr addict so photo taking started even before we landed in WA.
We took valuair for this trip. Some special deal we got way back so that tickets (w/o taxes) cost only S$150 each return. Anyway, was pleasantly surprised with the level of service we got and the to die for leg room space. Heaps better than the usual commercial planes like our national carrier for instance. Food was so-so and the portion is just enough for the average very small sized sg girls but no complains since its only a budget airline.
On a side note, they seem to like using humour a lot for this budget airline. Not only were the tuckbox funny, they even had an air-stewardess singing karaoke for us at the end of the trip.

Touchdown at the international airport. Taking snapshots of our vehicle seems to fast become a tradition with us. We did that last year in NZ and now we are doing it again. The wagon we rented online looked like an old beat-up bomb but the actual car was actually pretty good. Came with cruise control and some booster thing that made the boys realllllly excited. Licence plate says that it came all the way from NSW which is at the other end of the "island". Wahhh seasoned traveller siah. I havent even done that before. Must try one day before I get too old.
After collecting the car, we made our way towards fremantle. Short enough journey on any normal day but we were all dead tired, cold and very hungry. After a couple of wrong turns and stuff, we found the place. Looks quiet and a bit dodgy because it was surrounded by water on all sides and we had just seen this couple of kids made off with a couple of wheels (car) at the roadside in their old beat up bomb of a car. The presence of the bay surrounding us and the closeness of fisherman's bay, however, kept our hopes high.
Depositing our luggage in our apartment, we head back out into the cold in search of food because the one very pregnant lady in our midst says her son will throw a tantrum if she doesnt feed him soon. There was a 24 hour macdonalds and some little deli selling pie we saw on our way to fremantle but we thought we will try our luck at some place closer to base. A couple of turns later, we decided that it was a bad idea to continue looking. A decision was made to head out for some macdonalds.
Final destination was the pie deli but only because we were too hungry to drive any longer.
The food was pretty alright. Actually we were too hungry to care but oh wells. I had the schnitzel burger with veges and I couldnt wait to stuff my face. I also picked up a bag of Red Rock Deli chips which I have been dreaming of since I stepped off the plane. Lime and black pepper flavour. Mmmmm. It became an instant group favorite. We head back fully satisfied.
