Haven't had much to blog about these days. Brain not in tip top condition as well since all I seem to be feeding it recently is work and more work. My life, at the moment, seem to be a perpetual cycle of work, dinner and sleep peppered with regular bouts of gym sessions. Hmm not good.

Since my brain juice ain't working at the moment, I'll just share a couple of things I discovered this past week.

1. Courtesy of the local tabloid news (TNP), I found out that mad cow disease could be now be blamed on Indians. Yep. Thats right. Apparently some scientists in Europe have postulated that because Indians have this funeral ritual of floating their dead down the Ganges river, the decaying bodies end up futher downstream where the bones were then collected by bone collectors who sold them to animal feed factories to be grinded down and shipped to Europe as animal feed. Weird huh that a country which, up til now, has never reported any cases of CJD is now the reason why the world has CJD.

2. Courtesy of my good friend in australia who is currently dating a kenyan, I found out that Kenya actually has Seoul Garden restaurants. For those who aren't familiar with the place, its a singapore owned mass market korean bbq buffet joint with branches as common as Starbucks. So yeah, I deeply apologise to any kenyans for ever thinking that Kenya is very ulu (backward). Now that I got over the shock that one can easily find asian cuisine in Kenya, the next question I would like to ask is if the Seoul Gardens over there serve bulgogi zebra or spicy ostrich or perhaps honey soy giraffe? I am currently trying my hardest to brainwash my good friend into marrying her kenyan hunk in the very near future so that I will have an excuse to fly to Kenya and find out for myself.

3. At a time where everyone is lamenting on the new low that humanity has sunk to (as seen on the various reports about Hurricane Katrina), it was very heartwarming to hear a story about how 6 year old Deamonte Love took care of his 5 month old brother, cousins and some other playmates in his apartment block after they got separated from their parents. There has been a lot of comparison between American hurricane and the Asian tsunami lately with many finding it vastly ironic that the most advanced country on earth has also got the prize for humanity at its worst. I guess memories these days are short. In the aftermath of the Asian tsunami, there were also looting aplenty, rapes and even stories of criminal groups trying to take the orphans for their own selfish gains. I suppose shootings werent that common here because most of the victims of the asian tsunami were poor farmers and fishermen rather than cityfolk who had easy access to firearms. With Hurricane Katrina, I've learned that history will never change. Crisis of any kind will always bring out the best and the worst in menkind. We should never forget that its only placed next to black that white will appear in its purest form.
